If you know beforehand that bromine has only two naturally-occurring isotopes, they must be 79 and 81. When bromine dimerizes, two 79's can make the 158 peak, a 79 and an 81 can make the 160 peak, and two 81's can make the 162 peak. You can't get this with 79/80 or 80/81.
