What are some good books to read to understand the "living constitution" and judicial activist theories?

I am currently in law school, and have been interested in jurisprudencial issues for a while. I am decidedly originalist, but I want to try to get a better understanding of other theories. I tried to read Justice Brennen's "Active Liberty," but I found his writing style increadably grating and couldn't properly focus on the ideas he was expounding. Any ideas on what I should read?

This is complicated... I really like this girl, and we have been good freinds for a year and a half. about 5 months ago we started going out, however it ended in about a month. She was very distressed over her ex boyfreind at the time and he took advantge of the situation. I used to be freinds with this jerk, but he really hurt her. Me and her talk for at least 2 hours a night, and are way closer than her and her boyfreind are. She even tells me this, but why is she still with him? Having a difficult time getting over a busted friendship?

I've had those before, and it usually takes me a couple of months and I'm like "out of sight, out of mind" ... but with this particular friendship bust-up it has been over a year and I still miss them like crazy (he's male, I'm female, and our friendship was platonic and lasted several years). Most of the "cost of living" posts I have read say that a minimum of 40-50,000 baht a month. Im happy watching TV at home, taking the bus & eating on the street.
