Why did God create the Earth in a perfect finished state?

some 10,000 years ago, effectively creating the Garden on Eden, yet seems to have left the rest of but the Universe in a state of evolution. The Herschel telescope has discovered a mive star about to become a supernova. It is likely that from the debris other suns and planets will form. In fact it seems like the Universe is in a constant state of change; planets dying, others being created. Why did God create evolution for the rest of the Universe but creationism for our planet?
