I dont get it why do babies LOOOOVE pacifiers? no one skip this question it really puzzles me..y do they?

like what's the point??My little cousins are always crying over pacifiers and wake up late at night and wont go back to sleep until someone gives them a pacifier?And my 6month old cousin jakiyri Wakes up and just cries til you put a pacifier in her mouth..Why do they do this? I know it's a stupid question, but it's a serious one. Why why do they do this? Serious answers only please
